Who we are...

701 9th Street, Benton City, Washington, United States
Laura has a passion and love for merchandising and design. Little did Robert (her husband) know he would come home to a newly designed home almost daily. Mix that with with an old service station built in 1935, a group of creative family and friends that have the same passions. Well you have some great and crazy things going on... Meet the family. Margaret and Michelle (laura's sister and niece) have an antique business "Two French Hens". The live in the seattle area. Al has a real passion for Oak! He finds and beautifies american oak furniture. Susan dba as "Found" has a real eye for Bohemian funk. Ric or "Trader Ric" and his partner Sean love glassware. There isn't a thing Ric doesn't know about glass. Dottie and her Hubby live in Oregon and have the love of "cowboy." Kind of a lace and barbed wire thing or Romantic ranch. Our newest Family member "Terry" (she also lives in Seattle) deals with textiles. They are truly an added benefit to the shop. So there we are! Please come see us soon. We are hunting and finding treasures to help you make your home and garden unique!

I know spring is coming!

Hi all.
I just know spring is close, so get your garden gloves ready!  We can hardly wait to get planting. We are dying to clean up our side yard to get it ready for our first "Second Saturday Market" of the new year. The date is March 12th. We had such a great response last year that I know this year is only going to get better. We are going to include some local artisans, and we hope to include food and music. We have had many inquires from antique dealers, both local and from out of town. So be sure to put the date on your calendar, it will be a great time! If you are interested in being a vendor at the market just give the shop a call and leave a message, we will get back to you with all the information you need and answer any questions. 509-588-3133.  Our thanks to all who have been so supportive of our move and new venture. Hope to see you real soon.
Laura and Pelican family.

Winter Update

The harsh cold of winter appears to be behind us, and the days are getting longer.  This is the time we yearn for spring, and start looking at gardening catalogues and house design books to get ideas on how to change things up once we start spring cleaning!  We are doing the same at Rusty Pelican.  Out with the Christmas decorations and in with a new look.  Laura has done another amazing job of showcasing.  The French Hens were just here and brought a great load of vintage wares.  Here are some new pictures!  And we have posted the Second Saturday Antique Market dates...mark your calendar.  You will definitely want to have this schedule; we are going to have some great Saturday gigs and you will not want to miss it.  Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Fall Update

The change in seasons is apparent!  Leaves have fallen, darker morning and evening skys, and a chill in the air.  Time to hunker down on house projects and get cozy for the coming colder weather.  We are enjoying the change in seasons and looking forward to holiday decorating!  Pumpkins, bales of straw, gourds, and winter pansies out in our front entrance...lovin' the fall.

The next Second Saturday is coming up, November 13, and we're looking forward to showcasing a couple of new vendors!  We are anticipating wonderful Thanksgiving time at home, and always anxious and happy to have friends and family stop by the shop and check us out.

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but we will soon give you a sneak peak of ideas for Christmas decorating and getting the spirit.  Stay Tuned!!!
